In social skills therapy, we work with individuals to identify areas of strength and weakness in their social skills and develop targeted intervention plans to address specific areas of need. These plans may involve teaching specific habilities, such as making eye contact, initiating conversations, or interpreting social cues, as well as providing opportunities for practice and feedback. We also collect data on their progress for a more tailored development.
The goal of social skills therapy is to help individuals become more confident and competent in their social interactions, which can lead to improved relationships, increased opportunities for social participation, and greater overall wellness.
