Parent Training

Trainning their caregivers

Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) who provide parent training use principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) to teach parents and caregivers how to support their child’s learning and development. Parent training is an important component of ABA therapy, as it helps to ensure that the child’s progress is supported and reinforced outside of therapy sessions. Some of the strategies we may use in parent training are: educating the parents about the principles of ABA, modeling specific behavior management techniques and strategies for them to use at home, coaching, feedback and behavior intervention plans.

Overall, parent training is an important component of ABA therapy, and RBTs play a critical role in supporting parents and caregivers to ensure that the child’s progress is reinforced and supported outside of the premise or standard setting,
